Freeze the easing of lockdown measures
The eco socialist party Rezistansek Alternativ (ReA) has called for the immediate freezing of the plan to ease lockdown restrictions and the reduction of Work Access Permits (WAP).
They believe that the reopening should be considered only when the second wave is under control, Le Mauricien reported.
“By granting thousands of WAPs to satisfy the economic oligarchy, the government bears responsibility for the health and economic consequences of this second wave,” spokesperson Ashok Subron said.
He urged for the introduction of a Universal Covid Income Grant to the self-employed.
