MMM Central Committee Votes 49-2 to Remain in the Government
The Mouvement Militant Mauricien (MMM) has delivered a decisive mandate to remain within the current government following a high-stakes vote at the Hennesy Hotel on Friday, 27 March.
In a secret ballot held during a meeting of the party’s Central Committee, 49 members voted in favour of maintaining the party’s position in the administration. Only two members opposed the move.
The Vote in Numbers
The motion, which was formally deposited by Adil Ameer Meea, saw a significant turnout from party leadership.
Of the 67 members eligible to cast a vote on the matter, 51 were present to make their voices heard.
The breakdown of the results is as follows:
| Category | Count |
| Total Eligible Voters | 67 |
| Voters Present | 51 |
| Votes in Favour | 49 |
| Votes Against | 2 |
The lopsided result provides a clear internal endorsement for the party’s continued participation in the governing body, effectively settling the debate raised by Meea’s motion.
