The Financial Crimes Commission (FCC) successfully auctioned 23 vehicles on Tuesday, 28 April, generating a total of Rs 4.7 million.

The proceedings, which took place on the second day of the commission’s public auction exercise, saw nearly all available lots sold.

While 24 vehicles were initially put under the hammer, one sale fell through after a bidder withdrew during the process.

Strategic Disposals

The fleet offered for sale included several vehicles seized by police forces, some of which had been held for a number of years.

Despite inclement weather, the FCC reported a steady turnout of bidders and described the operation as highly organised.

According to a statement released on the FCC’s Facebook page, Wednesday, 29 April, has been reserved for administrative formalities and the official delivery of vehicles to their new owners.

Auction Performance

The results of the second day follow a high-value opening session, where 24 out of 25 proposed vehicles were sold for approximately Rs 17 million.

The auction is scheduled to conclude this Thursday 30 April with the final sale of:

  • Boats
  • Motorcycles
  • Construction machinery
