Burglary at Pailles Firm Sees Thieves Flee with Rs 58,825 in Cash

Police have launched an investigation following a high-value break-in at a commercial property on Old Pailles Road, where thieves escaped with tens of thousands of rupees in cash.

The burglary, which occurred between 6 April and 27 April, saw intruders forcibly enter the building and ransack the interior.

According to official reports, the perpetrators made off with multiple safes containing a total of MUR 58,825.

Damage and Entry

The scale of the break-in was significant, with the suspects causing extensive damage to the property’s infrastructure.

Forensic reports indicate that four doors were forced open and approximately ten drawers were broken into as the thieves searched for valuables.

Forensic Evidence

Specialist investigators have conducted a thorough examination of the scene.

Key pieces of evidence have been secured for analysis, and authorities have confirmed that the site is equipped with a CCTV surveillance system, which is expected to form a central part of the enquiry.

No arrests have been made at this stage, and the police investigation remains ongoing.
