MauBank Board Moves to Terminate CEO Contract into his Bank Tenure
The board of directors of MauBank Ltd has rescinded the contract of its Chief Executive Officer, Vishuene Vydelingum, effective immediately. Announced on Wednesday 29 April, this decision comes several months before Mr Vydelingum’s tenure was originally set to expire in November.

No official reason has been provided by the board at this stage to explain the sudden departure.
In the wake of the dismissal, Deputy CEO Issa Soormally has been appointed to take the reins of the bank in an interim capacity.
Leadership Transition
Mr Vydelingum had been at the helm of the institution since 22 November 2023.
He originally joined the senior leadership team as Deputy Chief Executive Officer before succeeding Premchand Mungar as the head of the bank.
State-Owned Institution
Headquartered in Ébène, MauBank Ltd is a major commercial bank with majority state ownership.
The institution was established in 2016 following a merger between the Mauritius Post and Cooperative Bank and the National Commercial Bank.
Today, Maubank remains one of the primary banking institutions operating in the country.
