Black River Road A3 to Close for 3 Nights from Tuesday 7 April
A key stretch of the Black River Road (A3) will be closed in both directions for three consecutive nights starting 7 April, as major infrastructure works begin in the Cascavelle area.
The closure affects the segment between Xavier Village and the Cascavelle Shopping Mall. Traffic will be halted from 20:00 until 05:00 each night, beginning Tuesday, 7 April.
The disruption is necessary to facilitate the construction of the Flic-en-Flac bypass and the development of a new interchange near the Cascavelle Mall.
Traffic Diversions and Police Presence
The Ministry of Land Transport has implemented a comprehensive diversion plan to manage traffic flow during the works:
- From Rivière-Noire: Motorists heading toward Flic-en-Flac, Bambous, or Quatre-Bornes will be redirected via Temple Road and Cascavelle Village.
- From Palma Road (B2) or Flic-en-Flac Link Road: Drivers are advised to use Cascavelle Branch Road, depending on their final destination.
- Towards Le Morne: Vehicles travelling from Flic-en-Flac and Bambous will be diverted through Palma Road (B2).
To assist road users, clear signage will be installed throughout the affected areas, and police officers will be stationed on-site to direct traffic.
Ministry Guidance
Officials from the Ministry of Land Transport have urged motorists to exercise caution while navigating the diversions.
The Ministry has issued an apology for any inconvenience caused by these essential infrastructure improvements.
