Big Catch: South African Busted at SSR with Rs 9.5M Weed

The 30-year-old South African, Johannes de Jagger, was apprehended by the Anti-Drug and Smuggling Unit (Adsu) as he was about to leave the airport. Man was arrested at the Plaisance Airport on April 26th in possession of Rs 9.5 million worth of cannabis.

De Jagger’s suspicious behavior led to his arrest, and upon inspection of his luggage, authorities found a package containing nearly 8 kilograms of cannabis.

De Jagger, who works as a technician, is facing a provisional charge of drug importation with intent to traffic.

After being formally charged, he was remanded in police custody pending further legal proceedings.
