BCP Bank Mauritius CEO Triumphs at 1st Pan-African Female Finance Awards
Sangeetha Ramkelawon, the Chief Executive Officer of BCP Bank (Mauritius) Ltd, has been named “Women Banker CEO / Managing Director” at the inaugural Africa Women in Banking & Finance Awards 2026.
The high-profile ceremony, held in Lagos on 8 May, honoured Ramkelawon specifically within the Leadership & Strategy category.
The accolade recognizes her leadership, strategic vision, and commitment to driving a sustainable and inclusive transformation across the African banking sector.
According to a statement from BCP Bank (Mauritius), the award also shines a spotlight on the institution’s own development strategy, which focuses heavily on innovation, operational excellence, and customer service quality.
The event itself drew an influential crowd of executives, regulators, and financial professionals from across the continent to debate the evolution of African finance and the role of women within the banking industry.
During the summit, Ramkelawon featured as a prominent panellist for a session titled “Driving Change, Inspiring Leadership and Shaping the Future of Women in Banking”, where she highlighted the vital role inclusive leadership plays in transforming the sector.
Reflecting on her win, Ramkelawon attributed the prestigious distinction to the dedication and professionalism of her teams at BCP Bank, as well as the ongoing support of both the board of directors and the parent organization, the Banque Centrale Populaire Group.
