Air Mauritius has appointed Andre Viljoen as its new Chief Executive Officer, marking his return to the debt-stricken airline after ten years. Following a broad recruitment process, Viljoen will officially start his new role on October 15, 2025.

His appointment signals a strategic shift for the national carrier of Mauritius.

Viljoen previously led Air Mauritius in 2010, after leaving South African Airways.

His return is seen as a move to strengthen the airline’s future direction.
