Beaux Songes Raid: FCC Nabs Key Drug Trafficking Suspect and 2 Others
Three individuals were taken into custody by the Financial Crimes Commission (FCC) on Monday afternoon, 9 March, following a targeted raid on a property in Beaux Songes.
The operation, conducted on 9 March, saw the arrest of Keshore Kumar Baboolall, Marie Anne Kelly Desales, and Louis Claude Denis Verloppe.
Investigators have identified Mr. Baboolall as a “major player” suspected of holding a pivotal role in a synthetic drug trafficking network operating across the western region of Mauritius.
Two other individuals were also questioned during the operation.
Among them is Mr. Baboolall’s niece, and a resident of Camp Fouquereaux, who is alleged to have acted as a frontman in the illicit enterprise.
During the search of the premises, FCC officers seized four vehicles, including a motorcycle, and recovered several mobile phones.
The three suspects are currently being held at the Moka Detention Centre and are expected to spend the night in custody as the investigation continues.
