Bob Marley's Son Julian Brings "Rise Up for Unity" to Mauritius on August 29th

Julian Marley, the son of reggae icon Bob Marley, will perform at the Germain-Comarmond Stadium in Bambous this Friday, August 29, with his band, The Uprising.The concert is the main event of a cultural gathering called ‘Rise Up for Unity’ and promises to be a significant occasion for reggae fans. Organisers stress that the event is more than just a concert, as local artists will also share the stage with the internationally renowned performer.

A line-up of local talent

The event will feature a mix of local Mauritian bands, including The Prophecy, Raszen, Blakazi, Fighting Babylon, and Maista and the Defenders. DJ Kingdom will be on the decks between sets, with Ludovic Félicité hosting the evening. The show is scheduled to start at 6 p.m.

About Julian Marley

Born in London in 1975 to Bob Marley and Lucy Pounder, Julian Ricardo Marley is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, and producer who grew up between England and Jamaica. Staying true to his Rastafarian values, his music—including albums like Lion in the Morning and As I Am—carries messages of peace and unity.

Ticket information

Tickets are available for Rs 1,000 for standard entry and Rs 2,000 for VIP. Organisers expect a large turnout for the event, which they say will be a moment of unity and sharing.
