Vanisha Mohur Earns National Recognition after Saving Countless Animals in Need
The founder of the charity Rescue Animals In Distress, Vanisha Mohur, has been awarded the Officer of the Order of the Star and Key of the Indian Ocean (OSK) in recognition of her dedicated work in promoting animal welfare.
Ms Mohur, who is also widely known by her name Preety Saachi, received the prestigious decoration for her ongoing commitment to the cause.
Speaking on the award, Ms Mohur expressed both her emotion and gratitude to those who facilitated the recognition.
However, she was quick to emphasise that the national honour does not mark the end of her mission.
“I am moved and grateful to everyone who has bestowed this honour upon me,” Ms Mohur said. “As a rescuer, I always say that the fight continues, so this is not the end.”
Reflecting on the personal sacrifices made to build her organisation, she noted that the role has required immense dedication.
“I have sacrificed a great deal of my time, my energy, and myself to be where I am today,” she added.
For Ms Mohur, the true value of her work remains tied to the direct impact on the lives of animals in need.
“For me, what really counts is the well-being of the animals,” she stated. “The real medal is being able to save a dying animal and put it back on its four paws.”
