Thousands of pupils across the country are logging on this morning to discover their academic fates as the 2025 School Certificate (SC) results are officially released. From 10:00 am this Thursday 15 January, a cohort of 14,600 candidates—a significant increase from the 12,527 who sat the exams in 2024—can access their performance data online using personal access codes. Headteachers have also been granted access to the results for their respective institutions.

Access for Private Candidates

The Mauritius Examinations Syndicate has issued guidance for private candidates who may face logistical hurdles.

Those who have not yet received their access codes via post are urged to make immediate contact with the syndicate to ensure they can view their marks.

Performance Trends and Statistics

The 2025 examination period was a marathon for students, spanning from 18 September to 15 November.

Educators and parents will be watching the figures closely following a slight dip in the previous year’s performance:

  • 2024 Pass Rate: 72.65%
  • 2023 Pass Rate: 73.71%

While the 2025 pass rate is yet to be fully analysed, the substantial rise in the number of candidates marks a busy year for the local education system.

Looking Ahead

The tension is set to continue for older students. Following today’s SC announcement, the Higher School Certificate (HSC) results are scheduled to be proclaimed on 10 February 2026.
