Weather Forecast: 2.5-Metre Swells Threaten Seafarers: High Seas Warning Issued
An urgent advisory has been issued to all seafarers this, Saturday, November 15, 2025, as maritime conditions are expected to deteriorate rapidly. The warning comes as a frontal system approaches the island from the south-west, bringing with it increasingly rough seas and showers.
Maritime Danger and Weather Outlook
The island’s weather will be influenced by the approaching front, which is already causing the sea to become agitated beyond the reefs.
Conditions are forecast to worsen, becoming strong later today, with south-westerly swells reaching approximately 2.5 metres. Consequently, authorities have strongly advised against all deep-sea ventures starting this morning.
Periods of cloud cover are expected throughout the day, with showers most likely over the Central Plateau and in the south of the island.
Temperature and Wind Details
Temperatures are set to remain mild. The maximum temperature is expected to range between 22°C and 25°C on the high ground and reach between 27°C and 30°C in coastal areas.
Overnight, the minimum temperature settled between 18°C and 20°C on the Central Plateau and between 22°C and 24°C along the coast.
The wind is currently blowing from the north-west at a speed of 10 to 20 km/h but will gradually turn south during the day, settling at around 15 km/h.
