Eddy Boissezon, the former Vice-President of the Republic, has died at the age of 73. The politician, who previously served in the high office, passed away on Saturday, November 1st.

Political Career Highlights

Boissezon, whose political career spanned decades, was a sitting member of the National Assembly for two terms: from 1995 to 2000 and again from 2014 to 2019.

He held the cabinet post of Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reforms from January 2017 until November 2019.

Party Affiliations

Boissezon was an early member of the Mauritian Militant Movement (MMM). He later defected and joined the Muvman Liberater (ML) in 2014, where he held the position of the party’s Secretary-General.

Early Life and Professional Background

Born on March 28, 1952, Boissezon completed his secondary education at St-Joseph College in Curepipe.

Before entering politics, he worked in the banking sector at Barclays Bank. He subsequently worked as a Human Resources Manager at Scott & Co. Ltd. Boissezon also served as the Managing Director of ATICS & Co. Ltd.

He is survived by three children.
