FCC Grills Wife as Ravatomanga’s 4 Children Flee Mauritius
The wife of Malagasy businessman Mamy Ravatomanga was taken in for questioning this Friday morning, 24 October, after agents from the Financial Crimes Commission (FCC) raided her home in the north of the island.
The pressure is intensifying around Mr. Ravatomanga, who is currently hospitalised in a private clinic while facing an ongoing FCC investigation.
Ramy Nivo Haingonorina Rakotoniary was escorted to the Réduit Triangle facility for interrogation following the search of her residence early Friday, 24 October.
She was assisted by her lawyer, Me Devina Deonarain. Initial findings suggest that no compromising evidence was seized during the operation.
The development follows confirmation that the couple’s children were authorised to leave Mauritian territory on Thursday evening, 23 October.
The departure of Ramy Mialy Tiana and Aina Fenosoa Ravatomanga, along with Domaina Sandy Rahoeliarivahi and three-year-old Adrian Andritina, was confirmed on Thursday, 23 October, by the FCC to the family’s four legal representatives.
The authorisation was granted on the condition that they remain available for the ongoing inquiry.
Mr. Ravatomanga is under investigation for the suspected transfer of several million dollars from Madagascar to Mauritius.
As part of this procedure, the Supreme Court has issued an “Attachment Order” at the FCC’s request, which targets several of his bank accounts and associated companies.
Despite the departure of their children, Mamy Ravatomanga and his wife remain prohibited from leaving the territory while the FCC’s investigations continue.
