Jugnauth Back in Court as Rs 114 Million Cash Probe Continues

The investigation into the seizure of Rs 114 million (£2 million) continues, as former Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth reappeared in court. He is now set to return to the Pamplemousses court on 27 January 2026 as the probe proceeds.
Mr. Jugnauth’s lawyer, Raouf Gulbul, stated outside the court that his client maintains his innocence and is cooperating with investigators.
The former leader was arrested on 15 February 2025 by the Financial Crimes Commission (FCC), which accuses him of concealing the large sum of Mauritian rupees and foreign currency through Josian Laval Deelawon.
