Senior Advisor Removed from Tourism Ministry Amid Political Shake-Up
Koomaren Chetty has been removed from his role as Senior Policy Advisor at the Ministry of Tourism, in what appears to be the first of several anticipated dismissals within the current administration.
Though Chetty reportedly told close associates that his appointment was always intended to be temporary, ION News sources suggested he was quietly sidelined.
The decision coincides with growing dissatisfaction from senior figures within the government regarding recent appointments.
Deputy Prime Minister Paul Bérenger publicly criticised the selection process last Thursday, 7th August, stating that several appointments made under the Alliance du Changement had been unsatisfactory.
He called for a more rigorous approach moving forward and hinted that changes were imminent.
Chetty’s departure is widely viewed as the first tangible outcome of this internal scrutiny, with more exits potentially on the horizon.
