Chamber of Agriculture Celebrates 170 Years
The Mauritius Chamber of Agriculture celebrated its 170th anniversary with a gathering of current and former members, staff, agricultural sector representatives, diplomats, and industry collaborators.
During the event, the president highlighted the Chamber’s role in data collection and decision-making for the sector, as well as its contribution to the creation of key institutions.
The Chamber continues to connect stakeholders in agriculture and the government, addressing challenges such as climate change and labour shortages.
The event also saw the signing of a scientific cooperation agreement with the International Centre for Research in Agronomy and Development, focusing on reducing inputs and promoting sustainable agricultural practices.
