New Cardiac Centre in Côte-d’Or

A state-of-the-art Cardiac Centre is set to be established in Côte-d’Or, announced by the Minister of Health and Wellness, Kailesh Jagutpal, during an event commemorating World Heart Day 2023.

The centre, equipped with cutting-edge technology, aims to combat cardiovascular diseases, which are a leading cause of mortality globally and in Mauritius.

Minister Jagutpal insisted the need for preventive measures and outlined progress in addressing diabetes, hypertension, and smoking rates.

He also introduced a service for swift cardiac treatment. Additionally, initiatives like flour enrichment and mobile clinics for screenings were highlighted as steps towards a healthier population.
