Government employees barred from access to workplace if not fully jabbed

Government employees will no longer have access to a list of public areas if they are not fully vaccinated with a booster dose.

The new regulations, the Consolidated COVID-19 (Amendment No. 5) Regulations 2022, will promulgated by the Minister of Health and Wellness.

According to Cabinet Papers dated 12 march 2022, public sector institutions/workplaces/premises to be out of bounds are:

  • Civil Status Office;
  • Registrar General Department;
  • Wastewater Management Authority;
  • Corporate and Business Registration Department (Registrar of Companies);
  • Municipal and District Councils;
  • National Land Transport Authority;
  • Post Office;
  • Social Security Office;
  • National Empowerment Foundation; and
  • Mauritius Revenue Authority.

The new Regulations take effect as from 04 April 2022.
