Former President Offman dies at 81
Karl Auguste Offmann, the former President of the Republic, is no more.
He died on 12 March at 81.
He was President of the Republic of Mauritius between February 25, 2002 and October 1, 2003.
Relatives, friends as well as politicians went to his home in Beau-Bassin on Saturday to pay a last tribute. His funeral is scheduled for Sunday March 13.
The Mauritian flag will be flown at half- mast in government institutions from Sunday sunrise until sunset.
