Authorities launch inquiry into excessive profits by pharmacies
The retail price of certain medicines in pharmacies is currently subject to a major investigation of the Ministry of Commerce.
According to media reports, several pharmacies are allegedly flouting the maximum 35% profit margin set by authorities.
The Ministry of Commerce has noted profit margins between 300% and 600%, particularly on anti-COVID-19 drugs and those for hypertension and diabetes.
