Woman attacked in Grand Baie, chilling CCTV footage goes viral
What is being described as a spine-chilling video shows several men brutally dragging an employee of a currency exchange dealer over several metres to steal Rs 500,000 in her possession.
The incident reportedly took place in the centre of Grand Baie on New Year’s Eve.
According to Defi Media, which published the video, the young woman was injured during the attack.
Grand-Baie CID, led by Inspector Thacoor, have arrested five men allegedly involved in the violent assault: Vikash Dookhee, Patrice Joel Toulouse, Jean Jordan Mootoo and Warren Vincent Long and Evans Jason Larose.
The newspaper said the five men confessed their involvement in this assault. They are being kept in police custody.
