New consumer mobile app for commonly used products
Consumers will soon be able to check the prices of at 100 commonly used products through a mobile app.
The platform is being spearheaded by the newly-created Price Observatory Committee (POC).
The entity is mandated to give consumers enhanced visibility on prices of the same products in stores around the island.
The POC is chaired by Dr Rooba Yanembal Moorghen. Other members are consumer rights protection NGOs, the Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) and several ministries.
