Labour’s Shakeel Mohamed willing to apologise, but won’t close mouth
Labour MP Shakeel Mohamed has told Defi Media he is willing to apologise to get back in Parliament, in order to represent the people.
“But that does not mean that I will close my mouth,” he told l’Express.
Mohamed was suspended for four sessions last week for criticizing the Speaker.
He is also suing the Speaker over a previous suspension, which Mohamed claimed was “unfair and unreasonable.”
“Their objective is to get me out of Parliament because I give them a hard time and I embarrass them. Should I give them what they want the most?” he said.
Also suspended for four sessions is MMM MP Paul Berenger. The latter has severely criticised the Speaker for “blatantly defending the government and violating standing orders of the National Assembly for purely political motives.”
Berenger said he will not apologise for telling the truth.
