Weather Update: Heavy Rain Warning for Mauritius Lifted at 11:30 AM
The heavy rain warning previously in force for Mauritius was officially lifted at 11:30 am this Monday, 30 March, according to a bulletin issued by the Vacoas meteorological station.
The weather service confirmed shortly before midday that the active cloud formations, which had been lingering near the East coast during the night and early morning, have remained largely at sea.
These systems are now moving slowly towards the northeast, significantly reducing the likelihood of the heavy downpours originally anticipated.
Despite the cancellation of the warning, meteorologists noted that a light and humid airstream continues to influence the region. This atmospheric condition is conducive to cloud development throughout the afternoon, which may still result in localised moderate showers.
Residents on the western side of the island have been advised of a remaining risk of isolated thunderstorms.
The Mauritius Meteorological Services stated they are continuing to monitor the situation closely. Members of the public are encouraged to consult regular bulletins to stay informed of any further developments.
