Kretz Real Estate, the luxury French agency catapulted to global fame by the Netflix series The Agency, has announced the launch of its international franchise model, with Mauritius selected as one of its first two global locations.

The expansion marks a significant milestone for the family-run firm as it scales its high-end property business beyond France.

Alongside a new presence in Belgium, the Mauritian venture will see a physical “experience space” open in a villa in Pereybère by the end of March 2026.

Designed in collaboration with Label Expérience, the site is intended to mirror the brand’s Parisian flagship in the 7th arrondissement.

A Digital-First Luxury Model

Moving away from traditional brokerage structures, Kretz is implementing what it describes as a “premium strategic partnership.”

This ecosystem provides selected entrepreneurs with commercial support, business planning, and bespoke marketing and legal tools.

The agency’s rapid growth is underpinned by a digital-first approach. In 2025, the firm reported an 80% growth rate, selling over 500 million euros (Rs 26.8 billion) worth of property.

With approximately 250 sales per year—averaging one transaction every day—the mean sale price currently stands at 1.9 million euros (Rs 101.9 million).

Strategic Move to the Indian Ocean

The Mauritian franchise is backed by long-term island investor Emmanuel Beguier and will be led by Julia Hülshoff-Medar.

A veteran of the fashion industry for twenty years, Hülshoff-Medar has spent the last eight years specialising in luxury real estate.

“It is a pleasure to introduce the vision of the Kretz family to Mauritius,” said Hülshoff-Medar.

She highlighted the island’s appeal as both a “dream destination” and a “refuge,” noting its stability and high quality of life.

“These assets fit into a Mauritian real estate market that is currently structuring itself with high development potential.”

Global Reach and Local Impact

According to company data, foreign investment in Mauritian real estate reaches several hundred million euros annually, with luxury activity concentrated in regions such as Grand-Baie, Tamarin, and Rivière-Noire.

Founded in 2007 by Olivier Kretz, the agency has leveraged its media presence—including two million social media followers—to build a team of 130 agents, 40 of whom joined in 2025 alone.

While 60% of its turnover is currently generated in France, the move into Mauritius signals a concerted effort to grow its 40% international revenue share.

Alexandre Bruneau, Managing Director of Kretz Real Estate, emphasised that the new locations are not “standardised networks” but faithful extensions of the brand’s identity, focused on “humanity, excellence, and innovation.”
