Isolated showers are expected to hit parts of the island this Monday, 13 April, with weather experts warning of potentially moderate rainfall across western regions and the central plateau in the afternoon.

A light easterly wind is pushing clouds across the region this morning, according to the latest Vacoas meteorological station bulletin.

While the morning began with occasional light rain in the east, north, and over high ground, the afternoon is set to see increased cloud development.

Afternoon Outlook and Temperatures

Forecasters predict that while much of the island will remain partly cloudy, specific areas in the west and the central plateau will experience localized showers.

These may turn temporarily moderate in intensity before the skies clear late tonight.

Temperatures today are expected to climb slightly above the seasonal average. Residents can anticipate:

  • Highlands: Maximums between 26°C and 28°C.
  • Coastal Regions: Maximums reaching between 30°C and 33°C.

As night falls, the mercury is predicted to drop to lows of 19°C on the central plateau and approximately 23°C along the coast.

Wind and Sea Conditions

A steady breeze from the east at 15 km/h will prevail throughout the day, though winds are expected to become variable overnight.

For those heading toward the water, the sea remains rough beyond the reefs. Maritime authorities have noted southwest swells reaching up to 2 metres.

Conditions inland are expected to stay partly cloudy where showers do not persist.
