Seniors protest to remind Government of promise to increase pension

About ten members of the Pensioners Grievance Movement held a symbolical demonstration in front of the Parliament in Port-Louis on Monday, January 24.

The seniors demand that the old-age pension be increased to Rs13,500 for all retirees, as was promised by the government.

They demand that the payment of the old age pension by post be made on the 1st day of every month.

They have made twelve proposals to improve the daily lives of the elderly.
