Rs 130M Sports Arena Flaws Expose Waste, Minister Promises Reforms

Sports Arena de Plaine-Verte and Roche-Bois Municipal Center Construction: Minister Aadil Ameer Meea Calls it an “Alarming Situation”. Minister and MP for Constituency No. 3, Aadil Ameer Meea, along with Lord Mayor Aslam Hossenally and municipal councillors from Wards 5 and 6, visited Plaine-Verte and Roche-Bois on Tuesday, 3rd June.

Their purpose was to inspect several infrastructure projects, including the Plaine-Verte Sports Arena and the ongoing municipal center construction in the Shell neighborhood.

The inspections revealed serious problems: construction defects, unusable equipment, and the lack of an air circulation system in the Sports Arena.

The arena, which cost Rs 130 million, is suffering from major failures.

Minister Meea described the situation as an “alarming example of public funds being wasted by the previous government.” He promised to take steps to address these issues.
