Appeal to PM: Sadien Urges Appointment of a CEO at Air Mauritius

In an urgent appeal for leadership, Radhakrishna Sadien is calling on the Prime Minister to appoint a new Chief Executive Officer for Air Mauritius. This plea comes amidst mounting concerns regarding the airline’s internal conditions and the challenging work environment faced by its employees.

On Thursday, 6th March, a meeting at Victoria House in Port-Louis brought together Reza Uteem, the Minister of Labour, along with Sadien, representing the Air Mauritius Cabin Crew Association, and influential unionist Yogita Baboo.

The discussions laid bare a disheartening reality: the situation at Air Mauritius remained stagnant and unresolved.

Sadien expressed profound disappointment at the treatment of union representatives, stressing that numerous issues remain outstanding.

“We have voiced our frustrations regarding how Air Mauritius engages with its trade unions,” he stated, encapsulating the sentiments of employees who feel their concerns have fallen on deaf ears.

In the face of these mounting challenges, Sadien’s plea extends beyond mere leadership; it is a call for expertise and direction from someone well-versed in the aviation industry, to help steer Air Mauritius towards recovery.
