FCC & ADSU Net Vehicles and Cash During Major Résidence Barkly Raid
A major joint operation conducted by the Financial Crimes Commission (FCC) and the ADSU’s Western Division targeted the Ghurboo family in Résidence Barkly on Wednesday morning, 11 March, resulting in the seizure of a significant collection of vehicles, cash, and jewellery.
The raid, which saw authorities move to secure assets amid ongoing investigations, involved a multi-agency approach.
While the ADSU focused its efforts on potential drug trafficking, the FCC simultaneously conducted its operation regarding alleged money laundering offences.
During the search, officers impounded an extensive fleet of vehicles. The seized items included:
- A tractor
- Multiple cars
- Numerous motorcycles
- A quad bike
In addition to the vehicle fleet, investigators recovered a substantial quantity of cash—which is currently being counted—and a collection of jewellery.
The Ghurboo family is already the subject of active investigations by the FCC concerning allegations of money laundering.
