Police Arrest Ashwan Lalljee following 2 Separate Complaints by his Former Partner

Ashwan Lalljee, also known as Pritvee Lalljee, has been arrested by police following two formal complaints lodged by his former partner.

The Batimarais resident was taken into custody on Saturday, 7 March, for an alleged “Breach of ICTA.”

The investigation stems from two separate depositions provided by the complainant.

In the first, recorded on 11 February, the woman alleged that a friend had shared a video with her in which Lalljee claimed her late husband was involved in the murders of Soopramanien Kistnen and Manan Fakoo.

A second complaint was filed on 24 February. In this deposition, the woman alleged that the suspect had contacted her by phone and issued threats against both herself and her daughter.

The arrest follows a high-profile development last week, in which Lalljee swore an affidavit claiming to possess information regarding the circumstances surrounding the death of Soopramanien Kistnen, a former political agent for the MSM.
