Police Launch Investigation After 2 Men Drown at Albion this Week
Two separate drowning incidents were reported at Albion lagoon on Thursday, 19 February, claiming the lives of a pensioner and a young man within hours of each other.
The double fatality has prompted the opening of a formal police investigation into the circumstances surrounding both deaths.
Successive Discoveries
The first incident occurred in the early afternoon, at approximately 2:00 PM. The body of a 74-year-old man was recovered from the water.
Despite the arrival of emergency services, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Only four hours later, a second tragedy was reported.
At around 6:00 PM, the body of a 26-year-old man was discovered in the same lagoon.
Police Investigation
Local authorities have confirmed that they are now looking into both cases. At this stage, no further details regarding the identities of the deceased or the specific causes of the incidents have been released.
