Economic and Education Sectors to Remain Open Despite Heavy Rain Watch

Business and educational activities across the country will continue as normal this Thursday, 29 January, authorities have confirmed, despite the extension of a national weather warning.

The National Emergency Operations Command (NEOC) issued the clarification this morning, reassuring the public that schools and economic sectors remain fully operational.

The announcement follows the decision by the Mauritius Meteorological Services to maintain a “Heavy Rain Watch” until at least 10:00 am this Friday, 30 January.

While the weather alert remains in place, officials have determined that current conditions do not warrant a suspension of daily activities.

The NEOC continues to monitor the situation closely as the weather warning persists through the morning hours.
