Thunderstorm Risk and Local Showers Forecast for this Monday, November 24

MAURITIUS faces a risk of thunderstorms and localised rain showers this November 24, due to humid and unstable atmospheric conditions, according to the Vacoas meteorological station.

Afternoon and Evening Weather

The most volatile weather is expected from the afternoon onwards, particularly across the South and on the Central Plateau, where the sky will become more cloudy.

  • Localised showers, which may be moderate at times, are forecast for these regions.
  • The showers carry a risk of thunderstorms and could spread to other areas by the late afternoon.
  • Localised showers are still anticipated in the early evening.

The day will start with generally fine weather before the clouds gather. The sky is expected to clear gradually later in the evening, leading to fine weather overnight.

The wind will blow from the North at approximately 10 km/h, becoming variable during the night.

In the event of thunderstorms, the public is urged to take the following precautions:

  • Stay sheltered.
  • Avoid open plains and hiking.
  • Refrain from sea trips.
  • Do not seek shelter under trees.
