Warning: Ministry of SMEs Exposes ‘Grant Scheme Fund Approval’ Scam

The Ministry of SMEs has issued a stern warning against a sophisticated fraudulent operation masquerading as an official financial aid programme under the title “Grant Scheme Fund Approval.” The public is being urged to be vigilant following the circulation of messages designed to lure potential applicants.

Identity Theft and Data Harvest

The ministry, which released a communiqué on Tuesday, 18th November, confirmed that the fraudsters are attempting to deceive the public and extract personal and financial information.

Critically, the scammers are even utilising the identity of a genuine officer to gain credibility and trick victims.

Official Protocol Reminder

The ministry stressed that no official government service would ever request sensitive data as part of a purported approval process for grants or financial assistance.

Action Required: Do Not Engage

The Ministry of SMEs has advised anyone receiving a suspicious message to refrain from replying and sharing any information.

Recipients must immediately report the incident to the ministry on the dedicated number 210 7100.
