Mamy Ravatomanga Rushed to Hospital: 1 Day After Detention Order
The Malagasy businessman, Mamy Ravatomanga, was rushed to Dr A. G. Jeetoo Hospital and admitted to the Coronary Care Unit today after a court ordered him into police custody.
Court Order and Subsequent Transfer
Ravatomanga was being taken to a police cell following his appearance before the Port Louis court on Thursday, November 6th, when he was transported to the hospital in a wheelchair.
The court had ruled that he be held in police detention, rejecting his return to the Premium Care Clinic in Phoenix, where he had been under surveillance since October 18th.
Detention Background
The businessman was originally hospitalised under surveillance at the private clinic, even following his arrest on October 24th.
The detention and court appearance relate to an alleged money laundering case.
