Weather Forecast: 60 km/h Gusts Batter Mauritius: Marine Warnings Issued

Gale-force wind gusts of up to 60 km/h are expected to batter Mauritius this Friday, October 24, coupled with hazardous marine conditions. The Vacoas weather station confirmed that the strong winds, originating from the east-south-east, pose a significant risk, with the base wind speed at 25 km/h.

Marine Warning

Seafarers and coastal users face danger as a result of the wind:

  • The sea will be strong beyond the reefs.
  • South-westerly swells are forecast to reach approximately 3 metres.
  • All outings on the high seas are strongly discouraged, along with activities in the southern and western lagoons.

Weather and Temperature Forecast

The local weather is currently influenced by clouds arriving from the east-south-east, leading to:

  • Partly cloudy conditions this morning and throughout the day.
  • Light rain is anticipated in the east, south, and across the central plateau.
