Rs 96.7 Million Synthetic Drug Haul: 2 Arrested as Flic-en-Flac Lab is Busted

Police have successfully dismantled a major clandestine drug laboratory operating out of a bungalow in Flic-en-Flac, seizing synthetic drug material with an estimated street value of Rs 96.7 million.
The operation, carried out on Sunday, 5th October, by Inspector Sunnia’s team from the Divisional Crime Intelligence Unit (DCIU) of the Western Division, alongside local police, resulted in the seizure of 6.45 kilos of powder suspected to be used for the manufacture of synthetic drugs.
The bungalow is believed to have been transformed into a secret lab for this purpose.
Two suspects, aged 27 and 41, were arrested at the scene.
Investigators also confiscated a range of equipment used for the manufacture of synthetic drugs.
In addition to the narcotics, police recovered a substantial amount of cash suspected to be the proceeds of drug trafficking: Rs 90,850, 700 Euros, and 10,000 Thai Baht.
A subsequent search was conducted on a hotel room in Flic-en-Flac; however, no compromising discoveries were made there.
