74-Year-Old Aquarium Owner Murdered in Botched Baie-du-Tombeau Robbery

Aquarium shop owner, Mark Yeung Shi Yin, has been killed in a robbery that escalated into a fatal assault and arson at his business, Mark’s Aquarium, in Baie-du-Tombeau.

Mr Yeung Shi Yin succumbed to his injuries after he and his son were reportedly attacked and tied up by burglars. The son managed to escape shortly after the assailants allegedly set fire to the premises.

The grim discovery was made this morning, Thursday, 2 October, after the son, who survived the ordeal, raised the alarm.

The tragic incident has sent shockwaves through the local community.

Multiple police units, including the Major Crime Investigation Team (MCIT), the Port-Louis North Criminal Investigation Division (CID), and the Field Intelligence Office, have been deployed to the scene.
