3-Day Summit Puts Mauritius on Track to Become Indian Ocean’s 1st ‘Longevity Nation’

A ground-breaking Mauritius Longevity Summit is set to convene the world’s leading experts from November 13 to 15, 2025, at the Trianon Convention Centre, with the ambition of positioning Mauritius as the first longevity-optimised nation in the Indian Ocean.

The inaugural summit is framed as a paradigm shift, moving the island nation away from a “sickness care” model towards an approach focused on drastically extending “healthspan” beyond the current Mauritian life expectancy of 75.

Global Experts to Detail Scientific Revolution

The three-day event will explore scientifically validated methods to slow, and potentially reverse, the biological processes of ageing itself, a concept detailed by summit founder Damien Adam.

“The objective is not to discuss how to ‘age well,’ but rather to explore the scientific means to slow, or even reverse, the biological processes of ageing itself,” said Adam, who added that the revolution would “begin with 500 people in a room” and end with 1.3 million Mauritians “living better, longer, in better health.”

Key areas of focus will include precision nutrition, AI biomarkers, predictive diagnostics, and advances in regenerative and preventive medicine.

High-Calibre International Speaker Line-up

The summit will bring together global reference institutions for the first time on African soil, including the Buck Institute (USA), the world’s first research institute dedicated exclusively to the biology of ageing, and the Longevity Summit Dublin (Ireland), a leading European convergence point for science, biotech, and public policy. The local Advanced Medical Learning Centre will also participate.

An internationally acclaimed line-up of speakers includes:

  • Dr. Mehmood Khan (CEO, Hevolution Foundation), the former global Chief Scientific Officer of PepsiCo.
  • Dr. Brian Kennedy (National University of Singapore), a world authority on biomarkers of ageing.
  • Dr. John Newman (Buck Institute), a geroscientist translating fundamental biology into clinical practice.
  • Dr. Matt Kaeberlein, founder of the Dog Aging Project.
  • Michael Ringel (Boston Consulting Group), an expert on the economics of longevity.
  • Dr. Evelyne Bischof (Shanghai University of Medicine), a specialist in clinical longevity protocols.
  • Dr. Morten Scheibye-Knudsen (University of Copenhagen), an expert on the “Hallmarks of Aging.”
