Published

on

Mauritians should prepare for a significant change in weather as showers are forecast to develop across the island, potentially lasting into Sunday morning.

The shift is attributed to clouds linked to an instability line evolving to the East, which will begin to influence local weather from this evening, according to the latest 11:30 am weather news issued Saturday, September 27, 2025.

RAIN AND TEMPERATURES

Localised showers are expected to first appear over the North, North-West, and central plateau.

Further rainfall is predicted later on, with localised showers still likely in the North-West.

For the remainder of the day and into Sunday morning, cloudy periods with showers are anticipated over the East, South, and central plateau. Elsewhere, conditions are expected to be partly cloudy.

Temperatures remain high, above the mean for this time of year.

  • Maximum temperatures will range between 22 and 25 degrees Celsius over the central plateau and 27 and 30 degrees Celsius along the coastal regions.
  • Minimum temperatures tonight will be between 16 and 18 degrees Celsius on the central plateau and 20 and 22 degrees Celsius along the coasts.

WIND AND MARINE CONDITIONS

A light wind is currently blowing over the region, with the wind generally South-Easterly at about 15 km/h, becoming variable during the night.

Marine conditions will see the sea remaining moderate beyond the reefs with waves of the order of 2 metres. South-Westerly swells are expected to begin from Sunday morning.
