Kobita Jugnauth Questioned by FCC in Brief Hearing Since February 2025
The wife of former Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth, Kobita, was allowed to leave the Financial Crimes Commission (FCC) after a brief questioning session. The hearing, which took place this afternoon, lasted under an hour.
The questioning of Mrs. Jugnauth, who was accompanied by her lawyer Raouf Gulbul, is part of an ongoing investigation into the seizure of Rs 114 million (approx. £2 million) hidden inside four suitcases on February 15.
Upon leaving the FCC building, Mrs. Jugnauth, who chose not to comment on the matter, joined her husband, Pravind Jugnauth.
The former Prime Minister was waiting outside, surrounded by former ministers and supporters of the Militant Socialist Movement (MSM) political party.
This is the second time Mrs. Jugnauth has been questioned by the FCC regarding this case; she was previously interrogated and released on the evening of February 15.
Pravind Jugnauth himself was previously arrested and later released on bail as part of the same investigation.
