Government to Speed Up Portable Retirement Gratuity Fund Payouts
On Friday, May 23, the Council of Ministers approved the creation of a special inter-ministerial committee. The committee will review how to improve the process for paying benefits from the Portable Retirement Gratuity Fund (PRGF) and ensure timely payments.
The PRGF provides money to:
- Workers when they retire
- Families or legal representatives of deceased workers
- Self-employed workers who contributed to the fund upon retirement
- Families of self-employed workers who contributed and have passed away
The goal is to prevent delays and make sure beneficiaries receive their payments promptly.
