3 Tragedies Shock: Teenager Found Dead, Pedestrian Killed & Suspicion of Murder
Mauritius is reeling from a series of tragedies. In a span of just one day, authorities are investigating the death of a teenager, a fatal pedestrian accident, and a suspicious death now considered a possible murder.
Teenager Found Dead Under SAJ Bridge
On Monday, February 17th, the body of a 15-year-old girl was discovered under the SAJ bridge. The teenager had reportedly been missing for several days. Police are investigating the cause of death, and a post-mortem examination will be conducted.
Pedestrian Killed on M2 Highway
Also on Monday, a 43-year-old pedestrian from Arsenal was fatally struck by a van on the M2 motorway in Bois-Marchand, Terre-Rouge. The victim was crossing the road when the accident occurred.
The driver of the van, a 39-year-old man from Poste-de-Flacq, has been taken into police custody. Authorities discovered the driver was not licensed to operate the vehicle involved in the incident.
Suspicion of Murder in Death at Alexandra Falls
Authorities are investigating the death of a 42-year-old man at Alexandra Falls with suspicion of murder. The resident of Grand-Bois was taken to Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital, Rose-Belle, by his partner after an assault in a parking area. Police are treating the case with a deep suspicion of murder.
