Body Parts of 16-Year-Old Discovered: Rodrigues Police Arrest 63-Year-Old Man

A gruesome discovery has shaken the island of Rodrigues. The dismembered body of a 16-year-old girl was found near the public beach at Anse-aux-Anglais Tuesday morning, February 18th.

The teenager was reportedly 5-month pregnant.

Police acted swiftly. Officers from the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of Rodrigues, under the supervision of Assistant Police Commissioner Luchan, arrested 63-year-old Jean Antoine Pasnin.

During questioning, the resident of Crève-Cœur confessed to killing the teenager and disposing of her body in the sea. Pasnin admitted to “cutting up” the young girl with a “fishing tool,” according to police.

The motive for the horrific crime remains unknown.

A search of Pasnin’s home later in the afternoon uncovered the victim’s clothes and bloodstains.

The investigation is ongoing.
