Mauritius Appoints New UNESCO Delegate
Jasmine Toulouse, a name now synonymous with international representation, has been appointed as the Permanent Delegate of the Republic of Mauritius to UNESCO. This appointment was made official on the 13th February.
She received her letters of credence from the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ritish Ramful, at the Ministry headquarters in Port Louis.
The announcement was made in an official communiqué released by the ministry.
Speaking of her new role, Toulouse described it as both an honour and a significant responsibility.
She outlined her key priorities, stating her desire to strengthen collaboration in education and culture, ensuring Mauritius effectively contributes to UNESCO projects.
She also intends to focus intently on environmental issues and climate change, with the aim of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
