In a significant development in the ongoing case, Magistrate Naazish Sakauloo, presiding over the Court of Port-Louis, has dismissed the provisional charges of criminal conspiracy against Sherry Singh on Monday, May 10, 2024.

This decision was taken following a statement by Nuckchedy, the police prosecutor, to the same effect in court.

For the record, on May 15, 2024, Me Urmila Boolell, Senior Counsel and advocate for Sherry Singh, had requested the dismissal of the provisional charges of criminal conspiracy against his client before the Port-Louis Tribunal.

The former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Mauritius Telecom was provisionally charged with criminal conspiracy with Danesh Ellayah for allegedly perpetrating a fraud worth several millions of dollars linked to a 2018 Smart Boxes 4K contract.

This motion by Sherry Singh was prompted after the provisional charges of criminal conspiracy against Danesh Ellayah were dismissed on April 25, 2024.
